Interview with Valentina Belle

What are your five favorite books, and why?
I am going to cheat here a little and advise you on my favorite series.
1. Hampden Series - W. Ferraro
2. Hart Series - Ella Fox
3. Mitchell Series - Jennifer Foor
4. Dennison Series - W. Ferraro
why? because they all contain hot, sexy alpha males. The stories are a great combination of sexy and sweet. I love when I can pick up a book and have a hard time putting it down, and that occurs with all these stories.
What do you read for pleasure?
My favorite genres to read are New Adult and Contemporary Romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle! I would be lost without it.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I'm still working on this, so if you have any ideas/suggestions I am open !! :)
Describe your desk
I work full time in Corporate America (don't hold that against me) so my writing desk is usually my lap. In the warm weather I am either hanging by the pool or at the beach. When its cold or raining, I am either at a coffee shop or on my couch.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New England, about 30 minutes north the city of Boston. I grew up 30 minutes from the city, 45 minutes from the ocean and about an hour from the Mountains. I don't think my location inspired my writing, I was more inspired by my circumstances and my over all passion.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing probably around the time I was 12. I put the pen down at the age of 17 and picked it back up again when I was 37.
What's the story behind your latest book?
This is my first/debut novel. It is a simply love story about a girl who gets a second chance with her one true love.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
A ton of encouragement from my friends and the fact that I have so many stories to share.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It's all brand new to me, but I can't see how it could hurt!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To get out of my own head. To be a part of a different world where I can create the stories, the love, the drama and the characters.
What do your fans mean to you?
Aside from family and friends, I do not have a "fan" base. I appreciate all the support I get from anyone and want to create stories where people can enjoy and feel good. Fans are everything to an Indie Author. Making readers happy and giving them a good story they can enjoy is the reason we keep writing.
What are you working on next?
Book 2 of the Sunset Series.
