Interview with Walter Rivera-Santos

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
At my 59 years, living in my homeland of Puerto Rico, plenty of sun, beaches, mountains, wonderful people… i often find myself at the mercy of the ocean waves catching on family and friends stories. Those people experiences brings my heart to my present life reality… its all about relationships.
Sharing in various environments, circumstances and exercises brings out the best of people… well… yes, it equally pulls out the negativity within some people. That’s fine, the more experiences the better.
Describe your desk
My beautiful desk, an 8 feet robust wood executive table. Tow Apple computers, one Apple TV, one PC, and the iPad. Two large monitors 23’ and 27’.
Four Bose speakers connected to all the computers. Two printers, brother black and white 6,000 toner cartridge and a color Canon.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Born in a mountain town of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. My father was a teacher and farmer. Coffee, oranges, bananas, the main farm production. Living in tropical countryside, in continuous contact with nature did calve a love for the wonders of the land.
When did you first start writing?
I am a new writer as of March 2014.
What's the story behind your latest book?
First book is in the process as of March 2014. It is about channeling Puerto Rican tourist related businesses knowledge of their potential worldwide tourist customer base. The programs available from the government and marketing techniques. emphasizing on the power of Internet and Social Media.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Smashwords presents a wonderful reasoning. Easy flow, distribution, percentage of money kept and so forth.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I am a brand new customer at Smashwords as of March 2014.
What are you working on next?
Puerto Rican tourism worldwide promotion using local business video productions showcasing their offers, and the people behind the businesses.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Time is a factor moving me to start my specific action packet daily tasks early in the morning.
Now, my wife have my prime time, evenings and early mornings. I do have family nurturing first on my agenda.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover design is a window my avatars want to look thru, observe and jump into with the idea of acquiring a new world successful avenues for a wonderful life for them and their love ones.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use an iPad to read and an iPod to listen to audiobooks and podcast when exercising or driving.
