Interview with Yvonne M Remington

What are you working on next?
I have tons of ideas for short stories. My biggest problem is deciding on which one to do next. I have steered from doing novels only because of the dedication and concentration it takes. I think I may have come up with a way to overcome that issue. I have the plot I just need to do the outline. I like to set my goals in time frames. When I am done with the current short story, I will concentrate on my novel outline.
Who are your favorite authors?
I enjoyed the Amelia Peabody series but by far, I have read everything that Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child's have written. Also dearly love Sherlock Holmes.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I keep feeling that there is something in life I must accomplish before I die.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
One of my goals is to get more exercise. Some days are better than others.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I read a lot from my public library. Free is good.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do and it was god awful. I went to poems after that. Then I decided to read up on what it takes to become a writer.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Not the very first, but in high school I picked classics and devoured them.
How do you approach cover design?
I have a degree in graphic design and own professional Photoshop. I design my own covers.
What do you read for pleasure?
Detective mystery.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Samsung Galaxy. I nicknamed her "Tabby".
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Something I am working on now. Hopefully, will be able to answer better later on.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up post war near Detroit. I have seen so many changes in the world. I have lived in a time where I felt I did not belong. I always seemed to be one step ahead of the rest of my world, at least. I always wanted to experience life and all the thing it has to offer. Still do.
