Interview with ZaZa Booth

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the Greater New Orleans Area of Louisiana. In the South, there are many accents and local sayings. Their beauty and depth caught my attention and inspired me to write.
When did you first start writing?
I first started when I was in sixth grade. I had just discovered that the Queen B of my clique at school was not revered by everyone. Soon a bathroom parley erupted into a revolt. After the dust settled and Queen B was dethroned, I realized that I missed her. I was perplexed by my contradictory feelings. I decided then that I would write the best book ever to help others through hardship. I never did finish the book but it is on my list...
What's the story behind your latest book?
The book was inspired by the loss of love letters in a text world.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Is there any other way to be in this publishing paradigm shift? Plus, I don't have time to wait around to be discovered.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When I get in the zone and let my fingers fly, it is pure joy. No matter what the passion, it is that moment when you escape all time and dimension and loose yourself in universal spirit.
What are you working on next?
Lucky to be in Love, a sequel to Crushing the Distance
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love this question because I strongly believe it is the greatest unacknowledged act of courage we do every day. For me, it depends. I suppose most often it is the desire to accomplish something meaningful. On not so courageous days, it's simply a good cup of coffee.
