Interview with Zion Monday

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Well, I always feel that innermost joy whenever I write my feelings out.
Writing is sometimes a way of expressing what words cannot say.
What do your fans mean to you?
I write because my fans exists. Now, there are two kinds of fans. The ones I write to comfort {masses} and the ones I write to criticize {oppressors}
But each of them to me is precious.
I only comfort to give hope and also criticize to have better leaders.
I forgot to say there are three kinds of fans and since I've already explained the two, let's move to the third kind.
Now, the third are the group of people I write to praise like friends, lover, parents etc.
What are you working on next?

Terry Goodkind {though I have never read any of his book but I have watched a movie adapted from his work}
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Even those who are tagged lazy has the inspiration of leaving their bed each morning but their soul is so weak to allow them do so. I believe that getting out of bed each day is the first step of living a balanced life.

Yeah.. ...

What is your writing process?
In writing poetry, I listen to people's discussions and pick the relevant words as my prompt and inspiration.
I also look for means to be melancholy if I want to write sad poems.

Whereas in writing play or novel, my first process is to get the storyline then everything follows. Though I have not written neither a play nor a novel but that will be my first process anytime I wanna write.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Actually, I.. .. can't remember the first story I read because I've read so many books that I can't even remember all their tittles or the authors.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My five favorite books are;
Romeo and Juliet

And Wedlock of the gods.

You might be wondering why I mentioned the first three books by the same author;
The truth is that William Shakespeare was and is the only writer who has and will ever write tragedy that will void your sleep when you read it for the first time.

The last two books were written by Nigerian writers who also happens to follow Shakespeare's style of writing that's why they appears to be among my favorites.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Well I.... I grew up in a poor family and a very poor environment that's not good for a child who has the vision of becoming an icon in the society. But still, it influenced me to strive and be the star that will bright the path to my father's lineage.
