Interview with Zola Blue

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that my God is alive and with me all day, gives me strength, because over the last few years, just the thought of facing another day was daunting. Now I write and tell stories, which allows me immerse myself into them, I experience a new adventure each day.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I have favorite authors that I like, and since I love fantasy and horror, I search for the tags for them. I have found some fantastic eBooks from unknown writers.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Oh, I study and spend time reading the bible, and I am a gamer. I also am an avid reader of horror books.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember as a child reading "To Kill a Mocking Bird." Of course in my day, that was required reading but I think Harper Lee was an excellent writer. Even at a young age, I was moved the by book and tried my hand at writing short stories. Another favorite book I would like to mention "Bellevue A State of Mind," Anne Barry also had a strong influence on me. This one prompted within me a desire to help the mentally and emotionally challenged.
How do you approach cover design?
Me and my husband always spend time developing images for my books. We have a whole collection of covers through the various stages of the book, but finally we decided to go pro. Jesse Gordon is an excellent cover designer who helped me with the cover of Treacherous Deceit, and I think he did an awesome job.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love horror, and fantasy. Some of my favorite writers are Stephen King, Dean Koonze, Anne Barry, and Robert JOrdon, who created the wheel of Time series.
Describe your desk
Neat and tidy, I hate clutter. Always a picture of my dogs on my desk and a special chair beside me for my administrative assistant, a pug cross.
