Interview with aaleeper22

What are your five favorite books?
The Outsiders
The Places You'll Go
Thirteen Reasons Why
Go Ask Alice
Catcher in the Rye
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Philadelphia, PA. Honestly, it isn't so much Philly that has influenced my writing but the people that I have known while growing up here. That is what I've learned. The place is not nearly as impacting as the people in it.
When did you first start writing?
Long before I can remember. If you ask my family, they will say I came out of the womb with a story.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story is actually completely generic and creative. The e-book has very little to do with personal experience and more of stepping outside of my comfort zone and writing in a different style.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Writing is my greatest and longest passion. It would be a waste to even attempt to do anything else with my career.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I've experienced dark times in my life and the joy I find in writing is when I can tell the story the way I wish it had been. I can write my own happy endings.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on a pilot script to my TV Series. It's a big step for my writing, and quite a long process - but I have faith that the result will be worth the wait!
Who are your favorite authors?
JK Rolling
Nicholas Sparks
William Shakespeare
Edgar Allan Poe
Ernest Hemingway
Stephen King
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My future. And the future of my writing.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was called, "Lucky Rotten". It surrounded a little girl who created a card game after being fed up with not fitting in. The point of the game was that the higher cards beat out the lower cards, every time. When she introduced this game to her friends, it was a hit. Although the idea was subtle, her peers loved the thought of winning something so easily.
