Interview with A J Ravenhearst

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
One of the earliest I ever remember reading is "The Sailor Dog", a Little Golden Book by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Garth Williams. It had so many things that I realise now I like to write about: adventure, distant lands, and anthropomorphic animals.
How do you approach cover design?
You'd think, as an experienced graphic designer, cover design would be a doddle. No. I agonise over my own covers far more than I ever would a client's. And I'm still never satisfied with them.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything and everything. I actually read far less fiction than I used to. For non-fiction, I particularly like to read history and philosophy books.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
The same battered Kindle I've had for the past seven years. I also use the Kindle app on my tablet.

A glorified table, basically.
