Interview with Aldrea Alien

When did you first start writing?
I started The Rogue King at the age of twelve. I probably wrote tons of other things beforehand, but that's the earliest I can recall.
Who are your favorite authors?
Ha! Got an hour or so? No? Okay, let's stick with my oldest favourites, in no particular order because I just can't do that with these people ...
Anne McCaffrey, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Andre Norton, J.R.R. Tolkien, Robin Hobb, Jennifer Roberson, Melanie Rawn, Trudi Canavan, Tad Williams, Terry Pratchett, Maurice Gee & Gayle Greeno.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Of course I do, I'm self-publishing it in February 2014. Okay, it may not be in the form I first wrote it in, but still ...
What do you read for pleasure?
Fantasy! Lots and lots of fantasy. High, low, urban, portal; Adult, New Adult, Young Adult ... you've just got to intrigue me.
I've also been known to read paranormals, historicals, science fictions and the odd contemporary ... just to keep it fresh.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read, no. The one that had the most impact on me? Yes. Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Not so much one of choice but the one I got for Christmas. Who am I kidding? I love my Kindle! It may never replace my beloved paperbacks, but it's the next best thing.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Er ... thinking about writing. Or reading. Oh gaming, too.

Yes, I'm a nerd. ^_^
Describe your desk
My desk ... you mean the dining table my computer takes up one end of? Yeah, it's long, brown and polished at one end by the arms of yours truly.
What are you working on next?
Next? Oh I've several storylines in the works. The problem is which one to start on.
