Interview with Ally Mare

When did you first start writing?
I started writing since I am 13 I think. I wrote poems mostly but for me at that time, it is just a way so I can release the thoughts I have inside my head. Then, I started to focus more in 2016 and released my first free poetry ebook, It's All About You.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Ally And The Daily Prompt is a collection of the daily prompt challenge I did everyday in my blog. Fellow bloggers and readers really enjoyed the different approach in my poetry. To appreciate them, I compile them and made it easy to read.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has given me a great platform to share my works. Everything available online and it made things so much easier.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I am not writing, I mostly spend my time reading, watching movies, binge-ing tv series, cooking, knitting and somehow buying groceries made me feels good.
How do you approach cover design?
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to cover design. I usually go for abstract and simple design.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My current favorite book would be Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen. Whenever I read it, it feels fulfilling and completing. It satisfies me a lot.
Describe your desk
My desk? You can find my budget gaming PC, stack of books, knitting needles, yarns and... geez, it is messy!
How do you define poetry?
For me, poetry is a voice. A voice that wanted to be share with others. Do you agree?
Do you consider poetry as a form of art?
Of course, poetry and other literature works are the art of words. Poetic is artistic in a sense.
Do you agree that writing is a form of healing?
I agree. Sometimes we can’t express ourselves fully. If we are angry, we might just snapped and smash something in front of us. However, when we write them, we tend express it in a different form. Once, you are done with the final period. Tell me, isn’t that the most satisfying feeling?
