Interview with Andy Carpenter

Published 2017-10-12.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
This is my first story, an autobiographical account of my erotic adventures.
What is your writing process?
I wrote about all the women I've been with.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I read Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. He was one of the first writers of literary pornography.
How do you approach cover design?
Look for the picture of a sexy woman who fits the story. I use Canva.com.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Any of Henry Miller's books. He really knew how to write about heterosexual sex.
What do you read for pleasure?
Playboy and other erotic magazines.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use a laptop mainly but I also have a Kindle Fire.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
All social media, but if the writing isn't good, no marketing will be effective.
Describe your desk
Messy and full of pictures of naked ladies, preferably hairy in all the right places.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing for about 10 years, but only now have decided to describe my erotic adventures and experiences.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Autobiographical sexual encounters.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I like the freedom to do it my way. The same way as I regard sexual encounters.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords allows me to be free and easy, the same way I like my women.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Remembering all the beautiful ladies I've made love to.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are most important. Without fans no author is complete. It's like masturbation - very unsatisfying.
What are you working on next?
I'm dating as many women as I can to get the best stories.
Who are your favorite authors?
Henry Miller, Norman Mailer and Comte de Sade.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
If I'm in bed with a beautiful girl I don't get out of bed.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Use your imagination!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By erotic content.
How many women have you bedded?
More than the late Hugh Hefner.
