Interview with M Faith

When did you first start writing?
When I was six or seven I started writing what I thought at the time to be poetry and fantasy stories.
What's the story behind your latest book?
"Reborn for You" was an attempt to face my own demons and issues with depression and bereavement, in addition to the world's fascination with labels. I hope that the true message is received effectively, however subtle, through the text itself.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have been blessed with a nice following on other publishing sites. I hope to share my words with more fascinating, wonderful readers. I believe that e-publishing is the future of writing in general, and am a big advocate of its usage.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It's like an exorcism for the soul, a way to get out the crazies. I live to write, but I write to live. Therein lies the paradox.
What do your fans mean to you?
A new hope and a new perspective. I have met some of the most amazing people this way, and it has changed my life forever.
What are you working on next?
Publishing the erotic novel, "Seducing Mrs. Kim," hopefully within the next few months. It's much more race than "Reborn for You," however, and nowhere near the fantasy genre of "The Ballad of the Moon." I like to write a variety of things to stay active in my brain.
Who are your favorite authors?
Mary Shelley, Ursala LeGuin, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, C.S. Lewis, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, D.H. Lawrence, Anne McCaffrey... and many more.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Honestly, I never feel quite at the level of "inspiration" when a new day rolls by.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am an English teacher at a local college, so grading papers typically takes up my time. I also like to bodyboard, and paint with my youngest son.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I was seven. It was a short story inspired by my fascination with "The Legend of Zelda." I still have it, but it's definitely not good.
What is your writing process?
Maniacal freewriting...
