Interview with A Anderson

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love to share my knowledge of personal development and life strategies through my protagonists as they face daily challenges.
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans are the people I aim to reach to make them realise that unworthiness is a belief system/behaviour, rather than a fact.
What are you working on next?
I am preparing to publish Office Gossip and creating new dynamic characters for my next satirical novel.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Maya Angalou, Tian Dayton, Dr Phil McGraw. Dare I say it, E L James??
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love life. I have fought depression and wear gratitude like amour.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I teach international students English in creative, dynamic ways. It's so much fun.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Recommendations. Sometimes I read the magazines.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was called WHY? It was about one of my homeless counselling clients who relapsed, used and died.
What is your writing process?
I see a character, I live as this character until I know them inside out. I love to be cheeky and riskey, I add that to their personalities, although some, I prefer to leave grumpy and irresponsible.
How do you approach cover design?
I have ideas and pray Google has a free image to help at the moment, until I get rich and famous.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read poetry, academic erotica, magazines, contemporary fiction, satire and the bible.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Phone.
Describe your desk
I have a white corner desk and have to cover it and my computer up every night as it calls me back, all the time.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I think I grew up once I had a break-down at 36. I now see, alongside Oprah that a break-down is a gift from God.
When did you first start writing?
When I went to college in my forties.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Office Gossip tells of the apathy within a Governmental Maintenance agency. It also highlights how abused girls behave promiscuously and get the boundaries between friends and colleagues mixed up. The added edge is the new Team Leader, he has been molested too, by his mother.
