Interview with Adrien Pitre

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I am a disable worker that can no longer work and can't afford to even have a place of my own on disability, so hoping this will help me for my future and I do like to see kids faces as you tell then stories. there is nothing in this world as nice as a kid smiling as you tell them stories.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Just being creative as your telling a story and making things up as you go on. If you're creative enough you could continue that story for as long as you like. That is where the fun is for me, for as long as I can remember I always enjoyed telling younger kids stories.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am dedicating this series of Andrew and the laughing giant to my late brother, as a young boy everybody always laughed when my brother told us a joke even if the joke was not funny. They laugh because my brother used to laugh himself and had the loudest and funniest laugh ever so anybody would laugh at him and also because laughter is contagious and the best thing ever and kids love to laugh.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the next book of Andrew and the laughing giant. I am planning on having many more books on the adventures of Andrew and Samuel Joseph Piper the giant of the fifteenth-century stars watcher.
What do your fans mean to you?
I am a single father of 3 kids and I really enjoy seeing them watching a good story and just watching their faces and being so into that story that what I love about kids. I enjoyed being a dad and I will enjoy being a grandfather one day. I love kids they are the future.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love life and always did but lost the zest for life when I injured myself in 1995 but as a father of 3 kids, I still needed to get up even if I had severe pain and in 2005 I was operated again and they placed a spinal stimulator implant and now I am able to do more without severe pain. I had a medical miracle happen to me and thank god for Technologie.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my time trying to publicize my book of Andrew and the laughing giant. I love to sing and take walk now that I can. And righting my life story called The spinner that will be out this year hopefully.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Actually, this is the first story I ever wrote and I am relly hoping it's going to be my new career for my future.
What is your writing process?
I write my story and I have a natural reader program that I cut and past it back so it reads it to me. if It makes sense to me it will for you, hoping that what I am succeeding in accomplishing the end task is having a story that no one else has that makes sense for young kids.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grow up in a small town in New Brunswick in a poor fatherless home, and I was alway thinking that when I have kids. I will need to watch them and not do what my father did and take care of my responsibilities as a father. Make sure my kids know how much they mean to me that is free. I needed to write my story about my life as a molested young boy and the problem I faced as the youngest boy growing up with this problem that is so widely spread around poor family's and rich too I suppose. I was 30 years old before I confronted my past and it was the best thing I ever did thanks to my own kid and step kids.
When did you first start writing?
I first started to write as a therapy to face my own life and it turned out to be the best thing I had ever started. It does wonders for your own mental health.
