Interview with Stephanie "StephyLionne" Ellsworth

What do you read for pleasure?
I read romance novels, mystery/suspense novels, and poetry for pleasure.
When did you first start writing?
I first began writing around 8th grade as a young preteen. I remember placing words together to form sentences and using words that rhymed to make the sentences make sense. I had also just learned about rhyme scheme.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my latest book is a young 19 year nursing student discovers that she is pregnant in the middle of nursing school and everyone in the community knows before the urine hits the dipstick. To make matters worse, everyone in her community also attends her church. Will the saints embrace her with love or condemn her to hell forever?
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My family inspired me and motivated me to write. They believed in my gift and my ability to write. I wanted to give up writing, but they assured me and believed that I would be successful because of my love for writing.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is being able to freely express my feelings and emotions. It allows me to think outside of the box and creative. I am allowed to be imaginative and dream beyond my wildest thoughts and bring those thoughts to life on paper.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are everything to me. My goal is to make my fans happy and know that they are appreciated.
What are you working on next?
I am working on a novel with a mixture of romance, suspense, and action.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are: James Patterson, Carl Weber, Nicholas Sparks, Carla Neggers, Cynthia Eden, J.K. Rowling, Rahl Dahl, and Eric Jerome Dickey.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My son inspires me to get out of bed each day and tackle the day; endure the course of the day so that I can make it back home to him.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I spend my time watching television or reading.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in an urban trailer park where the worst things happened. It was very unsafe and very unclean but it was home. It influenced my writing by giving me details or descriptions of scenes and scenery. It influenced my story lines and my plots in stories. It influenced my views on African Americans as a culture and a race.
