The first story I started writing was entitled He Lied To Me.
What is your writing process?
I typically write as the mood hits. There are days when the creative juices just aren't flowing so it becomes frustrating. At other times, the words appear on the screen as if by themselves. When an idea for a part of the book is scrambled in my head. I jot down the idea and later connect them to the book as the story progresses.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I can't recall the first story but I recently started reading due to the (get ready for it) Twilight craze. I feel in love with their love story. It puts one in the mind of first love and that part captured my heart.
How do you approach cover design?
I think about the book title and the contents and aim to create something that strongly symbolizes the contents of the book. I basically create the cover that represents the book's theme.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Again, I fall back to Twilight. Those books reminded me of a simpler time, they reminded me of my first love. No one ever forgets their first love so reading about that really stuck with me.
What do you read for pleasure?
I haven't as of late but typically paranormal romance or erotic romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't have a preference. I have used the Nook, Kindle, and iPad.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Facebook and Twitter have been most effective thus far but I plan to start some additional promotion strategies.
Describe your desk
In a word...cluttered.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small country town in Louisiana. I think I was alone so much that my imagination was my only constant friend. That is probably the reason, but I really can't say for certain.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was a teenager. I wrote poetry.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's about strength, growth, facing demons, stepping outside your comfort zone. It's about family and love and the beauty of both.
