Interview with Hughes Henshaw Publications

What are the things you writing the most?
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Shoe Cobbler Who Mended Souls It is about fulfilling one's destiny.
All of Paulo Coelho's books.
Going Within by Shirley Maclaine. Inspiring book.
The Power of Awareness by Neville
John Grisham's novels
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Tennessee and as I became much older I realized how much the bigotry influenced people in a very negative manner.
When did you first start writing?
Around 13 years of age.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Still writing it, however it is about my years of being a massage therapist and all the many things my clients told me and asked me to do. Some things were shocking and other were humorous.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
There are myriad excellent writers who have received 'rejection letters' from major publishing houses. The manuscript of my first self-published book was rejected by 47 major well-known publishers. When I self published the book I sent copies to book review editors of the magazines who wrote book reviews on that particular genre'. One of the major publishing houses that rejected the manuscript initially, sent me a contract to publish the book they rejected. That was an eye-opener for me. I signed the contract and a few years later I started my own publishing company and have helped authors get their books into the marketplace.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I can put on paper what I can't easily verbalize and would probably get in a great deal of trouble if I said what I really felt or knew about a person or situation. Therefore I create a novel about things I have done or maybe wanted to do; also I can write the truth about a person/s and create a different name and location and call it a novel.
What do your fans mean to you?
A great deal. It gives me an opportunity to realize how important being grateful is.
What are you working on next?
A combination of memoirs and poems.

After learning not to judge others, I asked myself, “What do you think causes our fears and uncertainties in life?” My answer was, It is professing to believe what you do not yet understand, and marching to someone else’s drummer (their belief systems), not mine. When someone tells me something and I feel it's not the truth, it has, in many cases helped me to listen to my inner guidance.
