Interview with Bailey Allen

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
i research many subjects on the internet, and find many answers,
but some times all my research points towards a great book...

and then i buy it :)
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do, it was about a little boy who was haunted by the thoughts of his father who died at war as a soldier.

very few realise this was actually closely linked to me, and although my dad never died, he would be away for months at a time, and he was always on my mind.
What is your writing process?
i have a thought, i write it down, i then jump on the PC and type it out, add to it, expand to related topics that could be included, add them, draft copy, final copy, format the document to look pretty...

then i have a redbull and keep working :)
How do you approach cover design?
i am a CGI Artist and 3D modeller...
each cover is created solely by me :)
What is your e-reading device of choice?
i like the kindle, but i would prefer the ipad as it can scale to be used for many more purposes than just reading.
unfortunately i have a laptop and an iphone so i cant justify buying one :)
Describe your desk
a BIG one.
i have a £1,800 Custom built PC, accompanied by two 22" monitors.
then i have a server that streams all my films and music to any device in the house.
then a book pile for educational books (not algebra thank god!)
then to the far left i have many storage devices...
blank discs (CD DVD and BluRay)
24TB worth of hard drives linked together
a half built cloud server, that i plan to make like dropbox for personal use.

so just quite a simple desk to be honest, nothing special :)
What do your fans mean to you?
they mean people willing to give up their time to listen to me.
in my shoes, i have plenty of family and friends that would love something as special as that from me, but im far too busy.
so from my fans, im honoured :)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Happiness, goals and deadlines.

my goals are strict with milestones, these all have deadlines, and after all this when the end goal is reached, i plan to be able to spread happiness to all those who deserve it but dont get it :)

my mum first, get her out of debt and replace her dishwasher :)
then myself, build a log cabin in the garden to work in so i can feel relaxed in my room.
then, i plan to help 10 kids find what they want to do and help them get there.
i mean go to schools and they should vote who they think is the most unappreciated kids in their class, then find out what they want, give it all too them :)
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
how dont i spend my time, try juggling a full time job + a part time job + freelancing + keeping up with a hobby + seeing friends and family + dealing with a partner + eating ....

and in there somewhere is sleep and energy drinks :)
a benefit of ADHD = hyper mind
benefit of counselling and determination = concentration

concentration + hyper mind + creativity = me :) and a lot of me
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
i grew up with some luxuries here and there,
don't get me wrong, i wasn't poor, but there was no holidays or the latest games etc...
Christmas presents were more often clothes than toys etc

but i when i turned 16, i understood why we only had all that.
my amazing and kind mum, was just keeping afloat in life.
her goal was try and stay within £1,000 of debt at any one time...
no motivation, pessimistic you get the picture...

i decided to be different, so i sold sweets at school, i was turning over £100 a week in the first year of secondary school...
my life continued with these ideas while i also found what i like the most, 3D graphics.

now days im just turned 17, im earning close to £1,000 per month, and working every waking hour,
because my next project, its gonna be big, it could be THE project that allows me to relax, to get mum out of debt, to go on holiday :)

im going to compete with DROPBOX, the cloud storage company
