Interview with Barbara Burgess
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was a children's story about a dog that rescued a child.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. It was about a wolf that had mated to a dog and produced pups. I thought I would love to own one. A bit of the wild and a bit of the tame.
How do you approach cover design?
I enjoy doing this. It is fun and I feel quite artistic whilst doing it.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Describe your desk
A little bit untidy!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Bedfordshire. Not sure if this influenced my writing or not.
When did you first start writing?
Aged 9 or even younger. I wrote poems mainly.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my latest book is the story of My Hilarious Life as a Psychic and Medium.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I just love getting the words out of my head and onto paper. I feel I have to write in order to empty my head. Sometimes it is just so very full!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I just do not like lying in bed once I am awake.
