Interview with Walt Lariscy

Published 2014-02-13.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that every day I get to do the tings that I am passionate about. How many people go to a job that they hate and then complain about it once they get home? Not me I go home knowing that I had a satisfying day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Are you kidding me? When I am not writing I spend my time doing the things I write about, kayak fishing and teaching it to others.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in South Georgia, my family was always involved in conversation and management of game and natural resources. So growing up I spent an extravagant amount of time in the woods and waterways of South Georgia.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wrote Kayak Fishing The revolution because there needed to be an solid resource out there for the aspiring kayak fisherman. Too much bad advice from inexperienced sources out there today.
What are you working on next?
I have a grass roots book in the works dealing with basic survival for the outdoorsman.
