What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that I have people that love me and people I love need me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, traveling, studying, and gardening
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Ads in newspapers or titles published by my author acquaintances
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was about a terrible accident I survived.
What is your writing process?
Freestyle, list ideas, and then begin taking time out to followup on my need to express myself.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes, it was a story about a young man recovering a big earth mover lost under ice. It explained how he saved and used it for the basis of his business.
How do you approach cover design?
Personally choose a design provided by different sources.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Alice in Wonderland,
Stranger in Strange Land,
The Prospering Power of Love,
Bugs,
but they call me Sonny...
What do you read for pleasure?
Science Fiction / Fantasy
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle and various devices that support it. Like phone, tablets, laptop, etc.
What do you expect from your writing?
I hope that readers enjoy my books. I want to continue writing while I am able and better my technique then produce work that will last long past my passing.
Describe your desk
Messy dining room table when not used for family dinners.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Iowa and Louisiana. They differences in experiences, culture, and conditions were extreme at times and I believe my ideas are demonstrated in my writing
When did you first start writing?
When I was a teenager.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It was from a recurring dream with a lot more elaboration while writing it.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had too many talented frustrated friends that could not break through into the writing world
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Do not know yet, accept it has given me another venue to present my modest art work to the world.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Living a dream that expresses a flow of ideas.
What do your fans mean to you?
I am not sure I have any at this early stage, but if any of them enjoyed this book I will be satisfied.
What are you working on next?
Sequel to Doom Night, Death of Civilization will be Doom Night, The World Beyond

Heinlein, Vonnegut, Pam Clark, Alan Cook, Victor Hugo
Has anyone commented on your work?
I have readers that said they enjoyed it and hope the sequel will be following soon.
