What is the greatest joy of fiction writing for you?
I love making my own world and watching it shape up to be something almost alive.
What are you working on?
I'm working on several different projects right now. One is this fantasy world falling apart and revealing its secrets. The second idea is an oncoming war on Earth in the future. My most recent project, inspired by my two mice, is a complex mice civilization including a high-tech spy organization.
Who are your favorite authors?
J. K. Rowling, of course. And C.S. Lewis. C.S. Lewis is awesome, too.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Hmmm......well, writing, definitely, and my stream of various projects.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of my time on Minecraft. It's especially fun to make a world on Minecraft from one of my stories.
What's the hardest part about writing?
Sticking to things. One minute I'm trying to type this great story idea, the next minute I'm watching videos about talking to giraffes.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Well, It's probably not the very first one I wrote, but when I was in first grade, we had to write a story about the days of the week. I think there was some cake and cookies involved somehow.
What is your writing process?
Sometimes I'll plan everything out and write chapter by chapter and stick to the plan. Most times I'll just have an idea and start writing with only a vague idea of where the story will go.
How do you approach cover design?
Like it's a sleeping, firebreathing-dragon. I'm just kidding. I try to keep it clean and simple, and make it fit with the theme of the book.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read a lot of fiction and animal stories, like the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. I also am obsessed with Harry Potter.
