Interview with Rebecca Smith

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy I feel is it is a real way for me to express myself in who I am, how I feel, what makes me tick. My son and hubby inspire to keep on going even when the joy is wavered.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Being an indie author to me is something with where i can freely say and write how i feel or in fictional how the characters is a new and exciting experience to want to write for eBooks.
What are you working on next?
I just started so to say this is the first one i am writing for you a compilation of my thoughts in quote form and poetry and a few paragraphs from my blog as well.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have so many favorites to list...Some of the best authors i have read have been in eBook and were free to the public. I do not know what I get when I read them and love the fact it turns out worthy to read. A book called AFK comes to mind, I was looking at the pages and just decided to forage on and it did not take me long to finish. It was a page turner.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Well...this is a loaded question...I would say hope and the courage to live and write and try my best to deal with the hardships I deal with. In that hardship it comes to mind why i want to finally publish...I have something to say and it is worthy of being put out there.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Play games, obsess a little with Facebook, watch my favorite shows, do the house thing and rest when I need to when the troubles i have get to me.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I actually started by writing poems to get my feelings out from the things i have dealt with in my life. I decided recently to try and write some books about myself and the life experiences I have been through.
What is your writing process?
I Do not really know. Sometimes I write on purpose to make a point and say something that is going to either knock someone the wrong way or they will agree. The poetry has to be inspired in my head for me to write that it is mostly done spur of the moment.
What do you read for pleasure?
Mostly SF, mysteries and horror...keeps me thinking
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They are teaching me the differences between how books will look on each program out in the cyber world. It can be a little hard at first, but I think once i get the ball rolling I won't be making the revisions like i had to. They do help though to get it to what is best.
