Interview with Mikayla Rodgers

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I am able to create this world. I have the power to do anything I want. It's just a joyous release.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. Without them I wouldn't have the strength to get out of bed to write a chapter. Without them I wouldn't have the courage and positive outlook on my writing that I have now. And for that I love each and everyone of my fans.
What are you working on next?
Well, for my book, "Wanting Hailey" I plan on making it into a trilogy or saga. I also have a couple of short story erotica's going on in my head.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite author is E.L. James, erotica wise. And my fantasy authors are Stephen King and Stephanie Meyer. I also love James Patterson, who's a creative genius in the suspense department.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My fans. That simple. The people who take the time and read and give me feedback. The least I could do is give them a story.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I play guitar and dabble in music. I'm a simple person and can be happy with my dog,Teddy and a snickers bar.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Mostly I'm an Amazon junkie, but I get most from my glamorous fellow wattpadders on Wattpad.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I do actually. Not my best *laugh*, believe me I actually reread it everyday and it inspires me to make my other works better.
What is your writing process?
First, I could be in school and I'm listening to my professor and a story idea pops into my head. I quickly jot it down before I forget them I make a organization web. I do a layout of all the characters and their characteristics and I just let the words flow out my mind to the paper. Then I type my draft on Microsoft Word and save a backup draft then....Viola!! My writing process.
What do you read for pleasure?
"Gives a sheepish grin* Erotica and Harlequin Romance. I'm addicted to both because I'm a Hopeless Romantic and love a happy ending.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My ipad. It's easy to use and very flexible to my needs. No scrolling with the mouse or anything. Just the ipad and my finger. Easy and Simple.
When did you first start writing?
I first started to write when I was in middle school in the 8th grade. My History teacher gave me a good review on my interpretation of a African woman being brought to America.
