Interview with Brenda Franklin

Who are your favorite authors?
That's always a hard one. I have so many... at the top of my list right now would be:
Lynsay Sands, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Elizabeth Kimmel, Shannon Messenger, Issac Marion, and Gena Showalter.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I am inspired by many things, but what usually pulls me out of bed in the morning is the need to eat. I am always starving. haha I aspire to live life doing what I love with the people I love, so it only makes sense to truly answer that question with saying my family. Without them I would be lost.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Goofing off. :) I love looking up family history, being outside, laying in bed all day, watching something geeky for the hundredth time (LOTR), reading, and playing video games.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I know a lot of authors on Facebook and so when I see a good book by them I grab it. I also take suggestions and I can't help but read one when asked too. :) People are amazing and what they write blows the mind. I love cliches, romance, fantasy, surprises, dark twists, paranormal, and heart stoppers.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was a horror story when I was really little. I rewrote the story for everyone to read last year titled, 'When Darkness Falls'. I think it had a stronger impact when I was little because...well, I was in the first couple of years of school. What parent wants to read a horror story from a seven year old? haha I wish I could have seen their faces.
What is your writing process?
I turn on some music in the background after my husband has slid off to work and the house is quiet. I mostly love to write in the early mornings, because when my husband is home the house is alive and its hard to focus.I would then pour a cup of tea and relax. Tea and music are the best combo.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I think I was corrupted after reading Interview with The Vampire by Ann Rice.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
At the moment:
1.) If I Stay: it was moving.
2.) Warm Bodies: This was the first zombie book for me to truly love and it felt so original.
3.) The Host: I read this in 2013 and I can't stop thinking about it. I don't know what to really say about it because it was just that moving for me.
4.) Phantom in the Night: Yum...yep, that's all. It was just a great read.
5.) Willow
What do you read for pleasure?
Any of the League books or GhostWalker books I can read over and over. I love them that much. :)
