Interview with Reynaldo Herrera

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a rural area, as in province of Batangas in the Philippines. During my childhood, we were residing in a coastal area fronting Balayan Bay. We like to just play along the beach, we play, we watched the sunset, go swimming... a simple life.
When did you first start writing?
I just have a desire to write but i dont know how. When i was younger, i usually writes poem but keep it to myself. I have several poems written in Filipino.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I am an observant. I have the talent of observing small details of I see around me. I just wanted to tell those observations to others. I wanted to write, I wanted to document those observations.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I am in my own world. I am happy writing what i feel and what i see.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To see the world, to observe and write my observations.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
watching TV, searching the net, teaching in the university and photography.
What do you read for pleasure?
Documentary. Suspense.
