What's the story behind your first book?
Students in my after-school program develop excellent number and reading skills. A common question from parents, though, is why word problems seem to be a big challenge. Word problems involve a lot of comprehension (among other things) of what exactly is being asked and what details are given to help answer the question.

The Mystery Math Squad story aims to entertain readers and foster love for reading. By writing a story where calculations are part of the conversation, I hope to give young readers a glimpse on how approaching word problems can be fun.
