Using my imagination. Whatever I imagine or dream, that becomes a story for me. Then I share it. It's not something that happens overnight. The process takes time because I want the reader tho habe every detail so the book becomes their reality when they read it. It becomes part of their imagination.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. It was in high school. Out wad based on what animal I could be If I chose to be one at that moment. I chose a cheetah because I was having problems at home, at that story became my outlet.
How do you approach cover design?
My cover has to convey the story I'm writing. I want a reader to look at the cover, and say I want to read this book because the cover leads me into the story.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I like different types of books, so i don't have 5 favorite books, but paranormal would be my favorite genre, then romance, then science fiction, comedy, and after would be mystery.
What do you read for pleasure?
Paranormal and paranormal romance
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like using kindle. They have some off the best device selections, and they're very dependable.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Putting myself out on social media. I put news of my books on my twitter (@authordeejones8), my instagram (candijones84), and my facebook (author Candi Jones).
Describe your desk
I don't really have a desk. I type on my tablet while sitting on bed ote on the sofa.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the South with a Northern father. It influences the way I write in that it gives me different settings to use.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 2016. My first book was actually a cookbook called "I Slay Food". It's still out and being read and used.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is a part 2. It comes from something that I wish could have happened, but didn't. So some of it is reality but a lot of it is just my imagination.
