Interview with Catherine Wooden

When did you first start writing?
I first began writing when I was five years old. Though most of my stories were about witches and princesses, I gradually started altering my own life experiences and putting them into stories.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small city near the mountains. Since I did not grow up in a big city, my characters usually live in small cities like the one I grew up in (unless I specifically place them in some other place I've lived in).
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was Miss Little and the Witch. My mother still has it in the basement along with my awards and trophies from my childhood.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Agatha Christie, Carolyn Keene, Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling, Beverly Cleary, wow, there are so many I'd like to name. I hope I can come back and edit this question to add more!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I am working as an instructor. I'm also a dedicated aunt of five nephews. I love spending time with my mom and dad. They are my closest friends. I dance and of course, I have a selection of television shows that I enjoy viewing.
How do you approach cover design?
I....don't... I can't afford to have someone design covers for me and I don't have any artists for friends. I'm always at a loss. I love Google Images but I don't want anyone to sue me over a picture lol.
