Yes, I wrote a book about horses.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
When I was young I read all of the Silver Brumby series by Elyne Mitchell. They fostered a love of horses in me.
How do you approach cover design?
I ask other people for their suggestions and opinions.
What do you read for pleasure?
I really enjoy historical fiction based on factual information as well as stories with Australian content.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a Kobo reader because it is waterproof so I can read in the bath.
Describe your desk
Organised clutter.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing an actual book a few years ago. I have been writing short stories as part of my teaching job for all of my career.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is about the five and a half year dispute that I had with my late partner's daughter over her father, my long term partner's will. It sounds simple here but the daughter subjected me to considerable distress using many harassing and delaying tactics because she did not want to settle the estate. She wanted everything and did not want to share. Even though I had been with him for 19 years she refused to acknowledge the care and assisted that I provided her father or my right to any accumulated value in her father's assets during our time together.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It seemed a simple way to get my story out into the public.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I am alive!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have a farm with beef cattle and horses. When I can get away I like to travel around Australia and overseas.

"I've made a will giving you half of everything that I own and the other half to my daughter, Beryl" My dying partner Allen told me. Beryl was infuriated. "I want the Lot!" She stated. Both subtle and blatant intimidation tactics, delaying court action and suspected fraud were utilised to deny me my well earned share of his estate. If you are a subsequent wife/partner this could happen to you.
