What are you working on next?
The am working a novel. It's called Auxiliary Hero Corps, and it's about a young superhero is in a job below his abilities.
Who are your favorite authors?
Tolkien, Steinbeck, Bernard Cornwell, Alan Furst, Scott Sigler, and Terry Brooks
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I know I have a story to tell, and I want to finish it.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Usually training runs, teaching my students, and hanging out with my family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Listen to podcast and see what my favorite author are writing.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was bad, a serial killer story, and when I gave it to my writer's group they were shocked. I don't write serial killer stories any longer.
What is your writing process?
Get up and try to write for a hour each day before I go to work.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember the first time I went to the bookstore and bought a book for myself. I picked out the Hobbit (good choice), and I have been hooked ever since.
How do you approach cover design?
At first I did them myself, but in the future I hope to hire someone else to make them.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Hobbit- It's great
East of Eden or Grapes of Wraiths - Stienbeck can write
The Rookie - Scott Sigler - His GFL series is a must read.
The Sun Also Rises - The first time you read it you know there's nothing better.
What do you read for pleasure?
Historical Fiction. I try not to read books in the area I write.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle and Google Play because I can use them any where.
