Interview with Charlotte Byrd

How do you deal with writer’s block?
I outline all of my words and then time myself when I write. I make notes about what I'm going to write for that session and then I set a timer and write for 20 or 30 minutes. Having the timer, forces me to write something and I end up writing a lot. I often start out dragging my feet and then continue on with 2 or 3 sessions at one sitting and end up with 2000+ words.
What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Creating imaginary worlds and escaping into them. I write erotic romance so that's also very exciting. It's a big turn on.
What are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on my second new adult, erotic romance series called Wild World 1: Rise of the Billionaire. It's about a girl who goes camping to deal with her mother's death and meets and falls for a mysterious man who ends up being a secret billionaire.

Each book will be a relatively short read, 125 pages, and it will be a 3-book series.
Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
I started watching Sons of Anarchy a few months ago on Netflix and the show inspired me to write this series.
What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Write what you love to read. Also, read a variety of things. I wasn't exposed much to the romance community until I went to a writer's conference and met a few awesome romance authors. I read their books and my mind was blown! Plus, connect with other writers. Romance is such a welcoming and collaborative and generous community. I still can't believe how many wonderful people I met here!
How do you get inspired to write?
I read a lot of books and binge watch a lot of Netflix. Then I have all of these ideas flying around in my head and I have to get them out on paper.
