What do you read for pleasure?
I like self help books and spiritual books. I also enjoy a good romance novel or thriller. I just love reading!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The book " And then there were none", by Agatha Christie. I was so drawn in by her writing style, I felt as if I were there. I loved to be able to be transported somewhere else with a book. Growing up in foster care, I learned very early how to escape.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Word of mouth actually. I usually buy what someone else recommends too.
Describe your desk
Family portraits, candles and flowers. Stacks of papers!!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in North Babylon, New York. Great town!! Wouldn't have made it through without our schools. Awesome teachers! Miss Karson was my English teacher and I loved her. She really made reading fun.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote for my high school newspaper at Julia Richman in NY, New York. I wrote the horoscopes, students liked it a lot. They would say, " How did you know that?" Lol.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am currently working on the sequel to this book Before You Judge Me. A lot of people like the characters Chavonne and Jonathan. I just want to reveal how much they have evolved. This will be a longer book. I won't disappoint!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Finally getting it out! Reaching inside and articulating my feelings. No truer form of expression exists for me.
What do your fans mean to you?
Anyone that has bought my book, I appreciate it. Anyone that has taken the time to read my book, I am so grateful. You could have been doing anything else, but you read my work. I am honored.
What are you working on next?
I am in the process of publishing a children's book, hard copy. I loved the whole process of this. Just totally all fun! I got to be a kid again, how awesome is that?
