Interview with Christy Dilg

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I'm not sure if it was the first story I ever read but A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle is the story that sparked my love for reading and as a adult I purchased this book for my daughter hoping she would fall in love with the world in your head as much as I did. It has stayed with me through all the years I wanted to write but didn't know where to start.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle because this is the story that I loved as a child and still remember reading.
2. Twilight series because it consumed my soul. I couldn't put it down and I was begging to be a vampire. Any book that can make you want to be a "monster" must be a dang good book.
3. Fifty Shades series because this story changed my whole life. It made me want to read again. It opened me up to my love of books and stories. Grabbed me in and never let go.
4. Thoughtless series because it made me finally open my eyes to writing. Something I always wanted to do but never had the courage to actually do. It came at a time in my life when I needed a purpose and that is exactly what it gave me.
5. Forbidden Forever because it is mine. I know it is selfish to put your own book on your top list but oh well. This book came from my heart and my thoughts. It has made me stronger in ways that I never dreamed possible. Even though it is not the most perfect book or on the new york times best seller list to me it will always be special.
What do you read for pleasure?
Erotica Romances...I just cant have enough.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Ipad because I can have every e-reading app out there.
Describe your desk
I have a light wood, L shaped desk. To my left I have a record player, then my laptop in the corner, to my right is my school books. Pretty simple but my favorite accessory is the name plate my husband had made for me. Best gift ever!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Cancer. I had it and after I beat it I decided to finally live life the way it was meant to be lived. Happy and no regrets.
What do your fans mean to you?
EVERYTHING! To be honest I don't think there will ever be enough words for the love I have for my fans. I want to be apart of their life just as much as they want to be in mine. For someone to love a story I wrote and embrace the characters the way I did is just amazing. For all the fans of my writing I just hope they know I love them deeply. Without them I would have quit and never went on with book 2.
What are you working on next?
Forbidden No More is book 2 of The Forbidden series. Big things going on with this book. I am so excited to complete it and see what everyone thinks.
Who are your favorite authors?
S.C. Stephens because even with her success she still manages to make time for the little people like me. I hope to be just like her as a person and never close myself off to the fans. Danielle Torella is so dear to me. I can't describe the love I have for this girl. She is a tiny lady with a huge bundle of talent from painting to writing. Her heart is full of kindness and I am so grateful to have her in my life. There are so many but we would be here for a lifetime if I went on.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My daughter. My only reason for breathing. She keeps me going when nothing else does.
