Interview with C Lynn De Leon

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing I read! LOL Really I do, I read to my daughter, for enjoyment or relaxation. Also I love crafts, if I can make it nine out of ten times I won't buy it...unless it's clothes...I can't seem to make clothes.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
That's a good question...Lately I've seen some ad's in my Facebook newsfeed and found two different series that I seriously enjoyed but I buy books so much that Amazon and Barnes and Noble seem to know what I want when I go looking.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Not really, I've always enjoyed writing and reading and I've written so many stories it's hard to remember.
What is your writing process?
Hmmm...Well with Prophecy of the Seven I was inspired by a dream and kind of just let it flow out. I'm currently working on the second book in The Genesis Project Series and I do have a rough outline which is almost null at this point LOL this book is even surprising me and I'm the one writing it!
What do you read for pleasure?
I read anything paranormal, contemporary fantasy, urban fantasy...I guess I just enjoy a good fantasy period although I do love a good historical romance every once in a while.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My phone! LOL I have a nook it was one of the first eReader model's they made so it's maybe...sheesh like 4 years old! but I use the Kindle app on my phone A LOT and my Nook device.
Describe your desk
My desk is anywhere I choose to be for whatever period of time I can sit, sometimes I stand at the island in my kitchen which is where half of Prophecy of the Seven was written.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Gary, Indiana...yes Michael Jackson is from there I am well aware lol I lived not far from their iconic house. I had a hard life growing up and books were my escape into a different world where I didn't have to focus or see what was going on around me. I don't know how this has influenced my writing other than my having an amazingly crazy imagination.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I did a ton of research on Indie authors VS traditional and decided that I wanted the control that tradtional authors usually don't have.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me would have to be others reading my work and loving it.
What are you working on next?
Currently I am working on book two in The Genesis Project Series. It is exciting and I can't wait for you all to get your hands on it.
