I write for children, so my greatest joy is knowing that a child has (hopefully!) been inspired, challenged and encouraged. So, I honestly don't write for myself but for others.
What do your fans mean to you?
I like to think of my fans as friends who come with me on the journey that the story takes.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on a story set on a small island in the Philippines (where my wife comes from). I can't say too much at the moment, as I'm still working on the plot. There i's a massive twist at the end though!

Michael Morpurgo, Jeremy Strong and Anne Fine
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children, my wife, the joy of life (despite the trials!) and hoping that I can make a difference to the life of others.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
What is your writing process?
1) Inspiration from observation/memory/experience 2) Mind map plot, characters, settings, sub-plots 3) Write, write and write again 4) Edit/refine 5) New ideas/inspiration 6) Wait 7) Repeat process until finished!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The earliest stories I remember reading were Brer Rabbit ones (good old Enid Blyton!). I enjoyed some of the humour but that's about all I remember!
