Interview with Anwil Kane

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town, too bad it's a destination spot. (insert angry face here) Why the angry face you might ask? Well in the summer residences can not even leave the house. For there is way too much traffic! Living here didn't really influence my writing at all actually. It's just something that I love to do.
When did you first start writing?
If I remember correctly, I would have to say when I was in elementary school. One day, when I was quite ill, I was with my mum at her work. Completely dieing of boredom, ad idea struck me. I picked up a pen and some paper and started writing away. When I was finished, a short story had formed.
What's the story behind your latest book?
To tell you the truth...it's a secret. If I were to let you in on it, then, I'm afraid I would have to blow your head up with my mind! Mwahaha! Okay all joking aside now. I really am not sure about my latest book. For I have yet to concoct it myself.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to become an author. But one day, my father told me about a close friend of the family just getting their books up on this site. Shortly after, I got in touch with them and they cheerfully agreed in helping me get my feet wet.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I am just starting to find success. But it has been wonderful using Smashwords. I highly recommend it to any starting out indie author.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I would have to say, finally finishing writing a novel. It's the best feeling of accomplishment and joy. I do however love when I'm in the writing process though. It somehow relaxes me.
What do your fans mean to you?
Well, if I had any fans, they would mean alot to me. I would want to make them happy with my writing and share the gift of having them be able to read more books.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My inspiration each day would have to be from my love life. They give me the will and strength to carry on writing. Even when I get into a rut.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am either with family, reading, drawing, playing tennis and golf, fishing, or camping. I love being outdoors.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I love the kindle fire. I think it's a great e-reading device with a lot to offer.
