Interview with Sean McKissack

What is your writing process?
I write in a visual sense,so its my hope that the reader can "watch" the story in their mind.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first one would be the "Mr Men" series by Roger Hargreaves. Always a favorite of mine due to the wit used in each story.
What do you read for pleasure?
I actually read non-fiction for pleasure, mostly computer reviews...I know, that sounds very bland.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
The Amazon Kindle...only because it can be used on almost any platform.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was a military brat so we moved every few years. I had to make new friends with every move but this also allowed for me to soak of atmosphere, environment and the way people in each ears I lived.
When did you first start writing?
In the first grade, after going to a "Young Authors" conference, where I got to see one of my favorite writers, Marc Brown.
Who are your favorite authors?
Sherman Alexie, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Douglas Adams, Terrance Dicks and China Mieville
