Interview with Pamela Ruiz

Who are your favorite authors?
I like novels that mix fiction with historical. Among my favorite authors are Upton Sinclair and Wallace Irwin. There are also the mystical books.
What are you working on next?
I'm already working on the second part of "La Dama de los Aromas" (Lady of Aromas).
I feel to have so much to share about the world of aromas.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Love get out of bed each day, love to my parents. And they inspire me to be a better person, to grow spiritually and make things right. I am a passionate person and focus my mind on new projects, always around the Aromatherapy-.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Among my family, my garden of flowers and plants, my work and my social life.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
A long time ago, I wanted to write a book on aromatherapy but did not want this to be a technical book. I think there are enough in the market. Then I thought, how to write about the benefits of aromatherapy and real cases collected during my 15 years of experience. But I perceived it as a bit boring for those just starting out and want to discover the world of aromas. I finally decided to do a novel to collect everything explained above.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
My first book is "The Lady of the Aromas" is about a girl who discovers her attraction perfumes in difficult moments of her life. Then after a heartbreak, traveling to Casablanca, where she will discover hers connection with aromatherapy. He decides to study and then become Aromatherapist.
What is your writing process?
I've always been a dreamer. I remember since a child create stories and count, first to my younger cousins and then to my nephews. Writing has been relatively easy to me, because the story comes alone in my head.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book was one that my grandfather gave me: "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. My parents sent me to the cottage of my grandparents during the holidays and there I started to read books.
How do you approach cover design?
The cover of the book is based on one of the chapters, when the Erika protagonist makes a connection with plants and flowers, and they whisper: "Erika is part of the land, plants and flowers"
What do you read for pleasure?
I like reading historical books that mix fiction. Although I like to read everything that comes into my hands. Always I have a book beside my bed.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Now I prefer to read on my phone because I have always at hand.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I do not too much about marketing but personally I use google for everything
