Interview with Dayna Rubin

What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Social Media, via FaceBook and Twitter have given me the best results.
Describe your desk
My desk is exceptional at displaying my many pictures of my husband, children and research books upon its dark and glossy surface, and is actually a 'return' but functions as a full fledged should definitely win an award for its ability to inspire, empathize and distract.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on the West Coast, split almost equally between California and Oregon. I was raised on organic, healthy food, with knowledge of carob chips and shark burgers while taking to the woods with my trusty dog and cat in search of Native American artifacts such as arrow heads and baskets. I angle for the interesting facts while continuing to be entertained, which I believe is a direct result of my environment.
When did you first start writing?
I began writing as most of us do, in elementary school, but continued on my own through the coaxing of my parents with a journal. Stories came naturally, and I enjoyed writing them and then spiriting them away to the nether regions throughout my young life. Serious writing won me over in my thirties, taking over as my most beloved hobby.
