Interview with Debbianne DeRose

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
New Jersey, where only the strong survive. It's influenced my writing a great deal because having an East Coast sense of humor makes for a distinct voicing. It's what brings the humor and levity into the "woo-woo" world of Metaphysics, with its otherwise airy-fairy California sensibilities!
What's the story behind your latest book?
I think the title says it all. I MANifested my Man and so can you!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've got indie in my blood, man. Anyway, it's the way to go nowadays. I wasn't about to wait around for a publishing dinosaur to put their stamp of approval on my goods, rearrange my art, and hold it back from the market for a year or two! Silliness.
What are you working on next?
Ah! Thanks for asking. I'm compiling a kick-ass anthology of inspiring true stories from people who "slacker manifested" stuff in their lives. Stay tuned... there will be a call for submissions Fall 2013. How exciting!
Who are your favorite authors?
Catherine Ponder, Florence Scovel Shinn, Erma Bombeck, Susan Jane Gilman, and Richard Bach... to name an eclectic few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
A full bladder.
How do you approach cover design?
I get a vision via download from Higher Mind, then attempt to convey it to a bonafide graphic artist.
What do you read for pleasure?
Woo-woo books, almost exclusively! We're talking New Thought, inspirational, metaphysical stuff... how-to guides for out-of-body experience, memoirs and true tales of quantum jumping and reality shifting, for example.
