What do you read for pleasure?
I like to read anything with a good plot and gripping characters.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like to read books with the ibooks ap.
What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I enjoy cooking, eating, and spending time with friends and family.
Describe your desk
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts. I believe that Massachusetts as a whole has influenced my writing. While writing about the Philips Family, I combined all of the aspects of the cities that I visited and created the fictional towns that my characters live in.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in the second grade.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest novel is titled “Confide.” It is the third novel in the Philips Family Saga. The story follows the romance between Jake Jones and Carmen Philips. The relationship between the two is tested because of the impending trial and Jake’s uncle’s race for office. The tentative release date is October 31.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I enjoy the flexibility and the freedom to publish all of my stories.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The most thrilling thing about writing is writing dialogue. I love writing conversations between characters. It’s so fun to think like characters.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything! Without readers, I wouldn’t have the urge to tell stories. It feels great knowing that I can share a piece of myself with people.
What are you working on next?
I’m working on a novel in a new series. It’s untitled and will follow a girl and her quest to save her brother. Naturally, it will be a fantasy series! I will give out the first novel in this series for free.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I read, cook, sing, watch television, and bond with friends and family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I don’t have one particular way of finding ebooks to read. I have discovered good reads through lists with free books. I also get good recommendation’s from goodreads and
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I vaguely remember the first story that I wrote. It took place in the 1800s and was about a girl who lost her mother from child birth.
What is your writing process?
I create a play list for every series that I develop. So before I tackle a chapter, I listen to a play list and eat a bag of Smart food, if I have some handy.
