What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love story telling, especially stories of make believe. I spent many years being an artist and felt that my artwork, though it told a story, was not sufficient and completely satisfying. It's often said that authors will write stories they would want to read, and its true for me. I longed for the world of C.S. Lewis' s Narnia, Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. Lands of OZ or Peter Pan. So I wrote my first book Deception Peak (after painting a 9 ft dragon of course) and it all blossomed from there.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is being able to travel into other worlds, entwine my life with my characters, and triumph over trials through their imaginary lives!
What do your fans mean to you?
I love to write, but I mostly love to have people read my work and ultimately enjoy it. It thrills me when folks, both young and old, tell me how my stories have brought enjoyment, or changed their life in some little way, even if it's to think about some issue they've been dealing with or realize a truth they hadn't seen before.
What are you working on next?
I have just published book 4 of the series and I am working on the novel Cassandra's Castle. We have a team which is making this into a television series and the novel has been sitting unedited for almost a year.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love walking the woods, sitting on a beach in the sun, in the garden. I also love being with my beautiful grandchildren and their parents.
