Interview with Dino KF Wong

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first few books I read were mainly Lone Wolf's game book series. Back then, there was no internet and I do not have any gaming consoles hence the books were really entertaining as it entwined me to a fantasy world.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read mainly motivational and self help books like Edward de Bono's How to have a Beautiful Mind, and Ron Kaufman's Uplifting Service.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
That would be my iPad 3 retina.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Singapore, however my passion for writing came much later. I only took up writing recently after a devastating breakup and that gave me an inspirational topic to write about.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It was due to the most ideal and lovely girl I ever known. Well, she decided to walk out of our relationship during the honeymoon stage.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to publish my book to get some motivation in life, I felt I am a failure to many things I do. My writing skills might not be up to standard but we need to start somewhere. After writing the first few thousand words and switching between a few drafts, I felt I could find satisfaction in writing. Whether it turns out good or bad, it gives me a sense of belonging.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
In terms of actual books, I have yet to publish one. I have started blogging with self help and other articles on dinokfwong.blogspot.com and having to see people reading it feels great. I will feel even better if I know those articles help uplift the mood of the readers.
Who are your favorite authors?
Edward de Bono, Gary Chalk, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Writing an article, attempting to finish my book, hitting the street for my random photography session
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Grabbing a cup of coffee, watch a tv series, taking street photography
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I usually do specific search of the ebook titles after I read the physical book at the bookstore.
