What is your writing process?
Keeping a ream of notebook paper handy and a cup of pens handy. I like to have classical music playing and start to right down all the ideas that pop into my head.
How do you approach cover design?
When the story is written that is when the process of cover design begins, I want to capture a character and or a photo to portray what is inside the book.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I like talking to the book store owners and have a one on one conversation.
Describe your desk
Love cherry wood and a neat and tidy desk with a drawer with a supply tray all filled. Being fond of wood, I purchased a real nice pencil and pen box which sits on top of my desk next to my leather bound journal.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Growing up in Anchorage, Alaska is a beautiful and grand place to see. My family has a history their and that is what I wrote about in my other books.
When did you first start writing?
In grade school once I learned to write, I began writing poetry.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Writing a series of my children book/coloring books and getting to write this last one which is about a mysterious mansion and will the smart dog, Trouser Bowser be able to solve the mystery,
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Basically, I had an idea and just kept writing and read all about going it on your own which fit my lifestyle. Just to try and see where the road will take me.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Being new and after all that I read about Smashwords, I have all the confidence that it will help me be successful.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Once you have completed your first draft, then your second and so on, is just a fun process and having ideas and a stories to share with others to read, is pure enjoyment.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to watch movie classics, browse the local bookstores and drive to the beach with my husband and watch and listen to the waves.
