Interview with Dranda Laster

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Paducah Kentucky, and all my life I heard stories. My mother was a great story teller and a big influence in my life.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote poetry when I was in Jr High school, and won a few prizes.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wanted to see if I could write from a males point of view. Based on my own experiences and conversations with the opposite sex.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I did my research and found I could have the freedom to write what made me happy...
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
it gives me the freedom to also write and be read by many.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Freedom...
What do your fans mean to you?
There the most important to any author, because they read your books.
What are you working on next?
The title of my next book is Memoirs of a Gigolo. I think its the best yet...It took me out of my comfort zone.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Jackie Collins, because I remember reading her as a young adult. I've always been crazy for historical romance.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Being happy with who I am, and who I will become. Everyday Is an opportunity to start my life over.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm a stylist, and I have been for many years. I'm always thinking of my next book.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I look through Smash-words and see who has written something new..
