The Spy from Nowhere is the life story of a naval intelligence officer, Michael Stone, and his Chinese wife, Liu Chan-juan (Grace). They meet in Hawaii during Michael's assignment to the Fleet Air Detachment there. They fall in love, but she's married and he's transferred two weeks later. Ten years later they meet at the United Nations where she is now employed and he's assigned to recruit spies from the Russian and Chinese delegations. Both have been widowed in the meantime. In the sequel, Grace under Fire, Michael and Grace become an intelligence team and carry out covert ops in the US, Hawaii and China before being assigned to the US Embassy in London. There they meet Mike's distance cousin from his Luxembourg family who makes him a very interesting offer.
