Interview with Adnan Khalid

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. My early education came at Aitchison College Lahore, an internationally acclaimed school for boys. Growing up in a country that has a great mix of tradition and modernity has over the years enriched the spectrum of my writing.
When did you first start writing?
I first starting writing when I was 8 years old. I tried my hand at poetry the first time when I was 12.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting my views out in the open for readers to ponder over.
What do your fans mean to you?
They are the motivation for better work.
Who are your favorite authors?
Paulo Coelho, Stephen King
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest work is aimed at analyzing the reasons man faces problems of survival when clearly all the natural resources are provided to him to make survival easy.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I watch a lot of movies.
What is your writing process?
Observation, outline, expansion and formatting.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Alchemist, Veronika decides to die, Eleven Minutes, The Scarlet Letter, The Twelfth Night. I like these books because they present life in different flavors through some amazing situations and dialogues.
