Interview with Beth Mccay

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Nook app, but I also have the Kindle app as well.
Describe your desk
I sit in bed with my laptop on my lap.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. South Surry drive to be exact.
When did you first start writing?
In my late twenties. One night I couldn't sleep and got up with an idea and by morning I had a crazy story on paper. Yellow legal pad paper.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A preacher's kid, called by God, to kill demons. Mac's sarcastic, funny, and I love her. It needs editing, but I think when I get done I'll have a great story that people will like.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I just want people to read what I write. It seemed like the smart thing to just edit my work, and put it out there.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I'm posting my first short story tonight. 8/19. So, I'll revisit this question in a few months.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The ability to leave my troubles behind and become a problem solver in another world.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. More than words can ever express.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have kids that need to get to school.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Word of mouth mostly.
What are you working on next?
I'm not sure yet. Hopefully, Called will be successful and Mac will continue her journey. Honestly, she may continue her journey just because I want to read it.
