I'm currently working on Book 2 in my Harrow series, titled Six Wives. I'm also working on a novella that takes place between books 1 and 2 called Hide & Seek!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
As I continue to plug away at my books, I work a day job as tech support :) So a paycheck inspires me to get out of bed, so I can continue to write!
What is your writing process?
I typically scrawl out bullet points or beats of the next scene I'm working on in a sketch pad before I start typing. This allows me to 1) get the kinks out before I need to write, 2) not look at the computer screen for a hot minute, and 3) make the most use of my limited writing time!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Aside from the day job and writing, I perform improv comedy and write sketch comedy. I also like napping and traveling.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the metro Atlanta area, and being in a Southern metropolis has given me both an urban yet small town outlook on creating worlds and characters. I'm also in driving distance of some of my favorite coastal cities, which I visit at least once a year.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Gah, yes. Something more akin to a horror romance thing. I can't remember the details, but I knew it took up several composition notebooks!
Describe your desk
Currently it's a mess -- it serves as my vanity table and my computer desk, so it's a collection of craft books and cosmetics. Nevermind the cans of sparkling water.
Who are your favorite authors?
Isabel Allende, Audrey Niffenegger, Neil Gaiman, Karen Marie Moning
What do you read for pleasure?
I read a lot of non-fiction, contemporary and historical romance, and urban fantasy.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Either my Kindle or iPad Mini.
